Have you ever felt like the world around you was spinning? Vertigo and dizziness can be a complex and difficult symptom to diagnose; however, the most common cause of short term and intermittent dizziness is Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or more commonly called BPPV.

The most common symptom is short lasting dizziness that is often brought on by turning over in bed, reaching for objects on the top shelf, sitting in a dental chair, or even washing your hair. As strange as it sounds, BPPV is caused by small free floating crystals in the vestibular system which can become dislodged and float abnormally through canals in the inner ear. Fortunately, there is a simple maneuver that physical therapists can perform which is effective in eliminating vertigo symptoms.

Here at OrthoWell we can perform a vestibular evaluation in order to determine the nature of vertigo symptoms and if necessary perform these maneuvers in order to cure your dizziness.
