Orthowell Physical Therapy

Custom Foot Orthotics

Are you looking for a way to make MORE money in ONE DAY then you do all week as a PT?

Do you want to own your OWN business and be your OWN boss?

Do you want to learn a new marketable and profitable skill that takes your therapy to a whole new level?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, then I have an answer for you

Custom Foot Orthotics

I’m NOT talking about casting your patients and sending the cast to be fabricated off-site by an orthotics lab. I’m talking about learning the hands-on skill of actually fabricating a pair of custom foot orthotics…in-house…in an hour’s time…while your patient waits!

So What Do You Have To Gain?

  • You would gain a new skill that would improve your patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.

  • You would gain complete control of the fabrication process and take out the middle man.

  • You would be able to provide immediate pain relief to your patients by fabricating and issuing a pair of custom molded foot orthotics on the same day of service.

  • You would have a cash based service to offer your patients, to local doctors and to the community.

  • You would substantially increase your revenue stream!

team

I’m talking about using technologically proven materials of the orthotics industry such as EVA foams, cork, and thermal plastics that you can mold directly to your patient’s foot and then grind and modify using a grinding machine to produce a completely custom pair of foot orthotics.

I’m talking about learning a system of evaluating and fabricating custom foot orthotics that has been used since 1997.

Let me introduce my foot orthotic training program

So who am I?

WalkWell Foot Orthotics has been owned and operated by me, Chris Dukarski,PT, since 1997. I have been a PT since 1990 and I have always had a passion for biomechanics and foot orthotics. I have been a believer in the adage “When the foot hits the ground, everything changes”. It was my journey of self-discovery and self-determination that brought WalkWell to life. It started out as a side project. As a way for me to learn and master a new skill. It was a way for me to supplement my “meager” salary as a staff PT and, to this day, it continues to do so.

And now I want to share all that I have learned to provide YOU the same opportunity!

I have to admit. I love being a PT. I enjoy the life-long educational experience that physical therapy has provided. You can see by clicking HERE that I invested some serious effort and time into mastering my trade. I get tons of satisfaction from my job even 30 years later and hope that you too will experience the clinical, professional and financial rewards that I have.

What I am offering to you is a way to enhance these rewards…NOW!

Here is a little intro snippet of what WalkWell Foot Orthotics is all about.

So what exactly am I offering?

exerecise

I am offering a comprehensive mentoring and training SYSTEM.

A system that can be taught with my mentoring at YOUR convenience and in the convenience of YOUR home or office via access to our online video training portal to learn the WHY and WHEN you fabricate.

I will provide group instructional sessions in the science of foot orthotics, biomechanics and fabrication techniques via zoom as well as provide one-on-one zoom calls to refine the mechanics of HOW to fabricate.

The first step in the process is to get a grinder. We can help you with that.

It has been my experience with training a previous employee that it will take at least 9 months of study and practice to get you to a proficient entry-level skill to start your own foot orthotic fabrication service.

It has been said that you need to invest 10 years or 10,000 hours ( or 10,000 pairs of foot orthotics) to be considered an EXPERT.

But with my help, you get to the expert level sooner than later!

So what will you do with your new skill?

Workshops

You can take your new skill and market it to your existing patients thereby expanding the cash based services that your current clinic offers.

Of course, it us up to you to negotiate the terms of that arrangement. Terms that could be mutually beneficial for you AND your employer.
OR
You could branch out like I did and start your OWN business, A business that you could market to local physical therapists, podiatrists, and doctors. We can show you how we did it and continue to do it successfully.

So how much money could you make?

Money

First of all, we have investigated getting a DME license to provide foot orthotic services, but the reimbursement from Medicare or BCBS for a “direct molded orthotic” is not worth your time.

Second, I would suggest that you perform a market analysis of the typical charges for a pair of custom foot orthotics by local podiatrists, orthotists and PTs in your area.

Third, keep your new skill as a cash based service!!

Lastly, keep it affordable. Because you take out the middleman, you can easily out price any local competition.

My average charge for a pair of custom foot orthotics is $200.

I see an average of 10 foot orthotic patients in one day. 5 in the morning and 5 in the afternoon. Each of my visits lasts for one hour. In that time:

  • I perform an abbreviated biomechanical and gait analysis.

  • I explain to the patient their diagnosis and how foot orthotics can help.

  • I educate the patient in proper shoes, pain management techniques, and issue an educational handout on how to take care of the orthotics, how to adjust to the orthotics, and a list of recommended shoes.

  • I direct mold materials to the patient’s foot.

  • I fabricate a completely custom pair of foot orthotics.

  • I issue the foot orthotics, instruct the patient to take them for a test drive and make any necessary adjustments.

  • I then…collect the money!! Ha!

So do the math!

In one day I can gross $2000!!

Your net will be based on your expenses.

The average cost of materials for each pair of orthotics is $30.

Your rent may be $500 per month for a small room in an office building or a dedicated orthotic room in your current clinic. That would be $116 per week (average 4.3 weeks per month).

Your net, for one day of foot orthotic fabrication, would be $2000 minus $300 for materials minus $116 for rent.

TOTAL NET: $1584

In one day, you could make what a full-time PT would make at almost $40 per hour…for a 40 hour week.

Your net would increase, of course, if you charged more based on your geographic location in the country.

So what exactly would the training include?

Your training would involve a step-by-step approach to learning not only the mechanics of HOW to fabricate custom foot orthotics but also the WHY and WHEN.

Your training would involve the following:
