Dry Needling

So how does dry needling and acupuncture REALLY work?

Dry Needling and acupuncture involve strategically inserting needles into the body to stimulate healing. The placement of the needles could be on trigger points or on acupuncture points or acupoints.

Acupoints are points that have been shown to be low resistance points. What that means is that external energy or even the energy from laser can move more easily thru them. Acupoints are located on energy pathways called meridians. Placing a needle in an acupoint will amplify the movement of energy thru the meridian.

So what does the research say about meridians? This very interesting paragraph from Eistiria.com will explain:

“In the West, (the idea of meridians) was initially rejected because they had no known anatomical connections. Radioactive isotopes, injected into acupuncture points, have proved the existence of a system of thin tubes resembling conductive channels, approximately 0.5-1.5 microns in diameter, which follow ancient descriptions of meridians. In the research that followed, the paths of light revealed by infrared photography show how accurate the maps described in ancient writings were. The acupuncture points located along the meridian are compared to the amplifiers located along the telephone cable, amplifying the signal to proceed to the next amplifier.”

So there you have it! Proof that meridians do indeed exist and proof that dry needling and acupuncture can indeed effect your energy systems and potentially your healing.
